Hi! I am Jenny Boone, the school nurse at Rincon Elementary. I graduated from the University of South Alabama in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences. Two years later, I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I have been in the medical field since 1997- working in a trauma hospital, initially, then moving to the Women's and Children's hospital of the University of South Alabama. I was a neonatal intensive care nurse at USACW and Memorial for 12 years before my school nursing adventure began in 2014. I am also a camp nurse during the summer in the mountains of North Carolina. I thoroughly enjoy working with my little Rincon Bobcats!
School nursing, a specialized practice of nursing, protects and promotes student health, facilitates optimal development, and advances academic success. School nurses, grounded in ethical and evidence-based practice, are the leaders who bridge healthcare and education, provide care coordination, advocate for quality student-centered care, and collaborate to design systems that allow individuals and communities to develop their full potential.
